Breathe New Hampshire Receives $6,000 Donation from EnviroVantage

Press release from NH Center for Nonprofits To celebrate their 30th anniversary, EnviroVantage, an industrial, commercial and residential environmental services contractor, hosted a party. But Breathe New Hampshire, a nonprofit celebrating its centennial this year, got the presents. The Epping company’s mission is to rid buildings and homes of contaminants. Breathe New Hampshire—the only nonprofit public health agency in the state dedicated solely to lung health–is all about clean air and healthy lungs. “Breathe NH’s goal is to provide educational programs and support public health advocacy and research focused on preventing, eliminating, and treating lung disease,” EnviroVantage President and owner Scott Knightly said. “Celebrating our longevity and progress of our common cause allows us to say ‘well done’ and continue the fight to preserve our living environment.” The Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside was the setting for the January gala, with a silent auction for fun and competition. EnviroVantage donated all of the auction proceeds to Breathe NH, and further gave a donation for each person who attended, for a total of $6,000.   EnviroVantage founder and President Scott Knightly, left, with President/CEO Dan Fortin of Breathe New Hampshire at right. Situated on the beautiful coastline of Maine, The Cliff House Oceanfront Resort offers spectacular views and endless relaxation, on over 70 oceanfront acres.  When it reopens in Summer 2016, it will do so with luxuriously designed guestrooms and suites– all with modern amenities and extraordinary views, oceanfront dining and bars, a new ballroom with floor to ceiling scenic views, a seasonal lobster shack, and an expansive spa & wellness center. EnviroVantage, New England’s largest specialty company for historical restoration has been on site since November, performing extensive selective removal work of all interior finishes to include all Gyp wall board, all flooring and most ceiling systems. In preparation for the grand resort to return to its former glory, EnviroVantage owner Scott Knightly noted his teams challenges.  “There were many which necessitated managing 35 workers and loading some 100 plus dumpsters with materials.  The remote location, the proximity to the cliffs and the ocean were added challenges however those all paled in comparison to the aggressive time line as we had to deliver a clean and accessible work area to the rest of the trades to perform their scope of work.  We delivered, on time, on schedule”. When the work is completed and The Cliff House reopens for Summer 2016, in addition to an elevated experience of service and luxury, the resort will feature programming and amenities offering curated, authentically-immersed experiences for guests to... read more

Cobb Hill Construction Inc.

New Hampshire’s commercial and residential construction company Concord-based Cobb Hill Construction Inc. (Cobb Hill) has been in business since 1986, when Tom Avallone established the company to serve the residential remodeling market in New Hampshire. Jerry Kingwill, current owner and president of Cobb Hill, joined the business in 1988, his first foray into the construction industry. “Tom founded the business with his brother-in-law,” Kingwill recounts. “They started off providing turnkey remodeling services, including everything but electrical and plumbing performed in-house. After the recession of the late 1980s, new business came to a standstill. The company transitioned into the commercial sector, hiring the first commercial project manager in the early 1990s.” In 2015, the business has grown and diversified significantly. After more than 28 years in business, Cobb Hill has become a reputable contractor for new construction, remodeling and historical renovation work in both the residential and commercial sectors. With a total of 33 employees, Cobb Hill has four project managers with differing specialties; one is focused on the senior living market, another specializes in commercial work with a niche in dental office construction and renovation. The third focuses on high-end residential work and the last oversees specialty service-related projects and maintenance work. “Our mantra is that we do not want to excel at just one thing,” Kingwill says. “We have not really declined the opportunity to work for anyone so long as the relationship we build is good. In the last six years, we have found a niche market with dental offices. We do three to five offices a year. Our team also does a considerable amount of residential... read more
