After graduating from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business, Scott Knightly began doing what he loved most-restoring homes and historic buildings in New Hampshire. The trouble was he kept running into lead paint and there were no state or federal guidelines for its safe removal.
Realizing the tremendous need for inspection and abatement, Scott formed Lead Source, the first licensed lead abatement contractor in New Hampshire. Knightly’s company quickly grew to tackle other contaminants found in buildings, including asbestos, mold, PCBs and mercury. The processes and practices he developed as New Hampshire’s first private lead contractor were adopted as state regulations in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts.
In 2006, Lead Source became EnviroVantage, a “one-stop source” for lead paint and asbestos abatement, mold remediation, demolition and environmental cleanup. EnviroVantage has become the regional leader in environmental cleanup and historic reconstruction.
Recently appointed to the board of directors of the National Demolition Association, Knightly is also on the board of directors for Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT and sits on the Asbestos Advisory Board as well as the Lead Advisory Board for the state of NH.
Scott’s leadership has taken the EnviroVantage team to great levels of success:
• Excellence in Construction Award from Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT (ABC)-Merit Award for Mary Lyon Hall, Plymouth State University 2007
• Excellence in Construction Award “-ABC Massachusetts Chapter
• ABC Merit Award for Construction (Historical Renovation)-Admirals’ Quarters and Lighthouse, Beverly, MA 2002
