On October 29th, the Associated Builders & Contractors NH/VT Chapter hosted the 2009 Excellence in Construction Awards Ceremony at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, NH. This program highlights the contributions that contractors make to our society, and recognizes the “best of the best” in the construction industry.

EnviroVantage is proud to have won an Eagle Award of Excellence for the Woven Label Mill Project in Claremont, NH. This historic mill had produced fine textiles for almost 100 years. In efforts to restore this building and revitalize the city of Claremont, the Woven Label Mill was converted into a brand new 200 seat Common Man Restaurant featuring and outdoor terrace with views of the Sugar River falls.

EnviroVantage crews abated asbestos, demolished and removed brick walls, ceilings, wood and steel beams and roofing materials while recycling everything they could. The team cut down and disassembled twelve 900 pound printers hanging 15 feet overhead (preserving one to be on display in the new restaurant), sandblasted the floors and removed all the lead paint from the building. Flexibility, innovative techniques and cross-trained employees helped overcome the unexpected and exceed the needs of the GC and the owner.

EnviroVantage is honored to have also been presented with an Award of Merit for their work at the Exeter Inn located in Exeter, NH. The Inn originally opened in 1932, and when Haycreek Hospitality purchased it in 2006, one of the renovation objectives was to retain the best features of the old while bringing in more modern accoutrements to its new patrons.

EnviroVantage became an “on-call” abatement and demolition company removing walls, brick, plaster, wallboard, floor tiles and asbestos pipe insulation as needed throughout the project. The key landmarks were found in the bar and dining room. Whether it was crown molding, hand crafted trim on the cabinets or other important woodwork, EnviroVantage  demolition specialists were able to safely take out the old, while other trades were building or installing the new.

We’d like to give a special thanks to our employees as none of this would have been possible without them.

Congratulations to all of the 2009 Excellence in Construction Award Winners!
