EnviroVantage Wins "Excellence in Construction" Award from ABC

February 26, 2007, Epping, NH

EnviroVantage, Inc. a leader in the safe handling of hazardous materials at building and historic reconstruction sites, announced today it has received an "Excellence in Construction Merit Award" from the Massachusetts chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the state's largest construction trade association.

EnviroVantage was honored for its renovation work on Cary Cottage, a 125-year old, three-story building that houses a drug rehabilitation center at Dimock Community Health Center in Roxbury.

The firm's specialty work included abatement of lead paint from the building's windows, removal of asbestos tiles, and replacement of most of the building's exterior clapboards--a task made more exacting with the Boston Historical Commission's mandate to preserve as much of the original materials as possible.

"The Cary Cottage project called upon our key strength of being able to remove all hazardous materials without jeopardizing the structural or historic integrity of the building," says EnviroVantage president Scott Knightly.  "We are honored that ABC recognized the value of EnviroVantage's contribution to this crucial restoration." EnviroVantage was recognized at the annual ABC Massachusetts Chapter Awards banquet and will be featured in ABC's magazine, Building Massachusetts, in the 2008 ABC Construction Users' Guide and Directory, and on its website at www.abcma.org.
