Amen Hall (1925)
Phillips Exeter Academy
Project: Phillips Exeter Academy, one of America’s foremost preparatory schools, did a complete renovation of Amen Hall, a girls’ dormitory built in 1925. A key goal of the project was a reconfigured interior featuring new stairwells and larger rooms for fewer students. Role: EnviroVantage laid the groundwork for the renovation. The firm managed crews that gutted the interior, removed all hazardous materials found onsite (including asbestos and lead paint), and prepared the four-story structure for reconstruction. Major Challenge: Time. EnviroVantage manged teams that worked around the clock throughout the summer to ensure completion during the 10 weeks the students are away. Result: EnviroVantage completed its work ahead of schedule and has entered its third decade of providing environmental services to the academy. "We are proud of our 20+ year relationship with Phillips Exeter Academy,” says EnviroVantage president Scott Knightly. “Our work at the Academy has taught us that meeting tight deadlines is what builds longterm partnerships." |
