New England Building Owners & Property Managers Turn to EnviroVantage for Clean Air Ducts

When people go to work, school or just visit a commercial building, they expect to have safe and healthy air to breathe. A key component to this is the building’s HVAC system and the ducts that distribute cold and warm air throughout a building.

A commercial building’s heating and cooling system works to take in and exhaust air out of a building. Through normal daily activities, people and their actions can generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants. In addition, outdoor pollutants can also enter a building and cause concern. These airborne pollutants may include dust, dander, pollen, mold, lead, asbestos and even a wide range of chemicals.

All of these contaminants can be pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated many times each day. Over time, this re-circulation can cause a build-up of contaminants in the duct work. Aside from indoor air quality (IAQ) concerns, contaminants in a commercial building’s heating and cooling system may cause it to work inefficiently and even shorten the life of the system.

“When an HVAC system is clean, it works more efficiently, uses less energy and most importantly may pose less health concerns to building occupants,” said Daniel Greenblatt, President of EnviroVantage. “The desired results are a clean air conveyance system, thermal comfort, happy and healthy people, improved cost-effectiveness and better indoor air quality.”
