Overview

The COMB Block Redevelopment project involves demolishing four outdated buildings, abating hazardous materials, removing FF&E, and managing soil to prepare the site for future safe housing. EnviroVantage is committed to keeping demolition, asbestos abatement, and remediation projects on schedule and on budget by self-performing key tasks with experienced crews who reduce delays, eliminate handoff issues, and integrate seamlessly into complex workflows.

Safety-Focused

Each day began with “Toolbox Talks,” where the crew prepared for safety and environmental challenges – everything from hearing protection and ladder safety to dealing with harsh weather and site hazards.

Unique site-work included:

  • Removed furniture, light fixtures, and equipment in multiple units
  • Abated asbestos in tile flooring, doors, and windows
  • Wrapped and cut asbestos-containing piping
  • Established containment, regulated the area, and built a decontamination unit
  • Vacuumed layers of fiberglass insulation and filled 40 oversized vacuum bags
  • Disposed of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and general waste, filling multiple dumpsters and two 100-yard truckloads

Coordinated and arranged required work for the following services:

  • Gas Line Disconnection
  • Cable Line Disconnection
  • Sewer Line Disconnection, plugging and filling of old lines
  • Water Line Disconnection
  • Erosion and Sediment Control
  • Pest Control Service
