Overview and Challenges

EnviroVantage self-performed multiple contracts for abatement and demolition at Maine Correctional Center as part of a large-scale renovation and modernization project.

Efficiency on this project was vital to keep the timeline for new construction. There were two strategies employed that maximized efficiency:

• An excavator on-site was dedicated to concrete processing to reduce the concrete down to 6-inch minus and be left on-site, reducing load-out times.
• Security fencing was raised around work zones to isolate the area from the secure boundary of the facility to prevent the need for additional security screening of waste disposal trucks.
